The Ocean Moods

I started painting this series right after the 2010 OIL SPILL in the Gulf of Mexico. Painting this series was my way of coping with the devastation to my little slice of heaven. I set out to capture the beauty of our beaches and the emerald hued waters on canvas using imagination and inspiration. I painted vivid sunsets and glorious sunrises, I painted how it felt and looked before the event. My intention with this series from the beginning has always been more of an interpretation of place rather than a literal capture. My imagery came from all the beautiful memories I have of sunrise walks with my dogs and shared sunsets with friends. The sounds and scent of the sea, the amazing clouds from all kinds of weather and the purest white sand beaches. I have painted 180 Ocean Moods to date with a goal to paint 365. To be titled 'My Year of Ocean'.

This is an album of sold paintings from my Ocean Moods series. I share this as a first step of my commission process to be used to gather ideas. Use it to make notes about parts you find appealing like the clouds in one painting or the waters color in another. It's just a starting point so when we begin to collaborate on your painting we have visuals to work from. We can also use your photographs as reference as well.
